The Libertad College Union - driving campus development, cultural excellence, and student empowerment at GEC Wayanad.
Introduction
From October 19, 2023, to January 19, 2025, the Libertad College Union has made remarkable strides in fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-thinking campus culture at Government Engineering College Wayanad. Beginning with the successful inauguration of student leadership in October 2023, the Union launched a dynamic series of events and initiatives that energized student life.
Cultural celebrations like Adhrishta and Dihra brought the campus to life, with Halloween and Diwali festivities creating space for cultural exchange, creativity, and unity among students. The Union also strengthened the college's sporting spirit through events such as the Cricket World Cup Final live screening and the Athletic Meet, which not only highlighted athletic talent but also promoted camaraderie and healthy competition.
Beyond cultural and sporting ventures, the Union placed strong emphasis on student welfare and campus development. Practical initiatives such as introducing UPI payment systems and installing water purifiers in the Civil block significantly improved everyday convenience and health standards on campus.
Throughout this period, the Libertad College Union has continued to demonstrate a commitment to progress, inclusion, and innovation—enriching the student experience through thoughtful leadership and meaningful action, and reinforcing its dedication to academic excellence and a united campus community.
